Brunei weather falls within the perimeters of humid and tropical conditions, so typical of regions situated falls in the equatorial climatic zone. Located in the northwestern region of the island of Borneo, Brunei weather is characterized by humid balmy temperatures, consistent rainfall and high humidity levels throughout the year. Another characteristic of the weather in Brunei is the formulaic nature of the seasons, with the little variations that exist attributed to the influence of the annual monsoon winds. Furthermore, it should also be noted that there is no dry season at all in Brunei Between December and March the country is covered in a northeast monsoon wile from July through to December monsoon winds blow in from the southeast. Frequent in appearance and heavy in volume –though short in time span - these monsoon rainy spells bring significant levels of precipitation, their input peaking in December and January, by far the wettest months in Brunei.

The second monsoon season commences in May and lasts through to May. During this second southwest monsoon, the intensity of rainfall decreases dramatically. Thankfully, Brunei weather is punctuated by two window seasons when precipitation levels drop and conditions are at their driest. These two windows covering the time between April to May and November to early December are considered to be the most favorable for overseas visitors otherwise not accustomed to the extreme conditions of the monsoon seasons. However, the temperatures in March and April are also at their peak a time during which the coastal areas are characterized by drought conditions.

High humidity levels are also a characteristic of Brunei weather. Averaging around 80 percent, high humidity makes the already difficult conditions even harder to bear, as the air becomes a lot stickier and uncomfortable that the temperature may suggest.
Needless to say, temperatures remain high through out the year. Although moderated by the cool sea breezes especially in the coastal region, average daily temperature in Brunei usually varies from 24C to 30C, oven reaching highs between 33C to 40C.
